General Questions

What is DigZone?
DigZone is a strategy game where the objective is to dig your way from one zone to the next without getting trapped or killed by the many hazards you will encounter.
What kind of hazards are there?
The main problem you face is becoming trapped by digging yourself into an area you can't get out of. As you dig through the zone, boulders and other objects may fall into the tunnel you leave behind, possibly making it impossible to return. There are many other items in the zone which are hazardous as well.
Does it get harder?
The game starts off easy so that anyone can play, but don't be fooled, as you navigate further through the levels gameplay begins to progress in a fashion closer to a game of chess than a stroll through the park. The first ten (or so) levels are relatively "easy" in order to help players "warm up", and introduce new items into the zone. Advanced players can find themselves passing level fifty.
How many levels are there?
Theoretically there are an infinite number of levels, but in reality they eventually get so difficult as to make advancing impossible.

Zone Items

The following table describes all the items in the zone:

Image Name Description
Player Player You!
Portal Portal A spinning red vortex, and your gateway to the next level. These are what you are looking for!
Dirt Dirt The basic ingredient inside the zone, it's everywhere. It holds everything up and is what you dig your way through.
Boulder Boulder Another zone basic, these are large rocks which you don't want falling on your head. If you have enough health you can push one around.
Block Block Like a Boulder, except square.
Metal Metal Used to form the zone iteself, it's immobile, impenetrable, and quite boring.
Plug Plug Like Metal, except round, so like all round objects, things will roll off the top.
Brick Brick These don't fall, you can push them around, and they can be crushed into dirt if a boulder falls on them.
Mud Mud You can dig through this brown dirty goop, but it uses up a little of your health to do so.
Health Health Pack When you get hurt, these make you better (good).
Energy Energy Cell Collect these pulsating orange and yellow cells for later use blasting your way through hazards.
TNT TNT Watch out for these barrels of explosive, you really don't want to be around when they detonate if a rock lands on them! If strategically pushed into place, they can be made usefull for blasting, if you know what you are doing.
Lava Lava Warning! This swirling red mass expands into free space, and, since you can't move through it, can quite easily trap you. The only escape is to either steer clear, block it's path, blast free, or hope it get's so large it cools into dirt.
Slime Slime With similar properties to Lava, this impassable green blob expands into free space, except has no size limit! Thankfully the skilled can destroy it by blasting, or dropping a rock on top.
Mine Proximity Mine Don't get too close to these spiky things!! If you do you will be very sorry when it detonates on you!
Monster Monster These green guys aren't too brite, but if they get close enough to see you they will try and chase after you. And it's a good idea to run away and not let them catch you, seeing as how they will start gnawing on you if they do!
